The Queen Of Beaches

Popular as the “Queen of Beaches”, the Calangute Beach of Goa is among the top ten bathing beaches in the world. Being one of the busiest and most commercial beaches of Goa, it is swarming with eating joints, shacks and clubs serving cocktails, beer and seafood. The Calangute Beach is also known for its water sports activities like parasailing, water surfing, banana ride and jet-skiing. While the days here are filled with beach fun, nights call for upbeat parties and letting your hair down. Calangute is also popular for staying in Goa as it keeps you well-connected to the other beaches in the north such as Baga, Anjuna, Candolim, Aguada and many more.

Ideally the best time to visit any place is considered when the weather conditions are delightful. For Goa, you can choose to go in November, December, January and February which is the peak season and July, August, September and October which is the moderate season.

Calangute is the beach to which everyone heads for the moment they land in Goa. So it is natural that it is overcrowded in both in peak and off seasons. This huge 7km sweep of sand located 15 kms from Panaji, is called the ‘Queen of Beaches’.

By rail, Thivim and Vasco Da Gama are the nearest railway station situated 38 kms away from Calangute beach. The nearest airport to Calangute is Goa (GOI) Airport which is 19.8 km away.
